Duo Rhone was conceived at the International Chamber Music Competition in Arles, France, where they won the coveted Premier Prix. While there, they discovered their mutual love of Southern France. This dynamic team will open this year’s festival with music by Bach, Bartok, Saint-Saens, Singleton, Takemitsu, Azmeh, and Piazzolla.
Harpist Bridget Kibbey is a winner of the 2007 Concert Artists Guild International Competition and recipient of an Avery Fisher Career Grant. Ms. Kibbey recently joined soprano Dawn Upshaw in recording Luciano Berio’s “Folk Songs” and Osvaldo Golijov’s “Ayre” for Deutsche Grammophon.
“Bridget Kibbey…made it seem as though her instrument had been waiting all its life to explode with the gorgeous colors and energetic figures she was getting from it.”
